Children almost always say exactly what’s on their mind. They are almost always brutally honest. They are soon pushed away from saying what’s honest to saying what’s nice, polite, or desirable.
By the time adulthood rolls around, honesty is no longer normal. People dress the part and know the lines, but deep-down, they would really like to rewrite the script.
