Have you gone a single day without distractions in a while?
The most time-consuming distraction for many people is television. Most Americans watch at least 2 to 3 hours of television every day, or fourteen to twenty-one hours a week. Americans are essentially working part-time jobs on their couches and not getting paid for it. Imagine what you could do in those hours instead – read, learn a new language, spend time with friends and family, play music, paint, exercise, or simply sit in solitude and think.
When you say you don’t have time, consider ridding your world of distractions instead. There is plenty of time when you have fewer unnecessary distractions.
Spend today without the TV (or whatever your guilty pleasure might be). It’s freeing.
